Buzz

You know you live someplace great when you stare at the calendar on the fridge (our family is strictly analog in this regard) and you scratch your head at all the great possibilities the weekend might hold. Dundas is like that.

Bright and early tomorrow morning, we head back to Soccer World on Frid for our first kick at their Lil' Strikers program since the spring. I just learned that they've been working on the most amazing mural on the building and I can hardly wait to see it.

After that, we'll be off to an afternoon and evening at Supercrawl on James North. There are tons of activities for all tastes and ages, from art to music and way beyond. Hopefully the weather cooperates and we can test the limits of the boy's bedtime. If you've never been to Supercrawl, it's on from now until Sunday and it's probably the finest festival of its kind in Canada. Find out more here: http://www.supercrawl.ca/.

Sunday morning will entail our usual trek out to Christie Lake where we will be hosting a mini trail building seminar for a group from the Brant Cycling Club. Having a few extra helping hands should really give us a great push as we near making a very important connection between two adjacent trails.

Straight from there, we'll be headed to the Telling Tales literacy featival at Westfield Heritage Village. Again, if you've never been and you have kids (or even if you don't), add it to your calendar too! There are readings, music and all sorts of great things. See what I mean?

Both Dundas and Hamilton are buzzing as if we're on the verge of something really great. It's perhaps telling that both these major events are the same age and that they just seem to keep growing and getting better. There's a vibrancy to our region that's attracting all the right puzzle pieces.

Although it's about a couple in the core, a recent article I read in Urbanicity (http://urbanicity.ca/2014/09/hamilton-bound-homeowners/) is typical of a lot of young people I meet in Dundas. It's a great time to live at our end of Lake Ontario!
